Requirements
You do not need any experience of caring for disabled people as all training is provided and you will not have to work alone until you have learnt everything. All you need is enthusiasm, willingness to learn and a good sense of humour.
You must have a driving licence.
I do not allow anyone to smoke in my house, so smokers have to take some fresh air when they want a cigarette.
You should be reasonably healthy and fit as work can be quite physical at times.
As my carers live in my house any disruption can affect the general atmosphere in the house and add a lot of stress to my life and the lives of the other carers. In my experience the job tends to suit people who are independent, flexible and friendly.
You must have reasonable knowledge of English, but don't worry too much - there are local English classes, if you want to improve your English.
